National Forum on Combatting Antisemitism
Canada has seen a troubling rise in antisemitic incidents, threats and hate crimes. The Government of Canada recognizes the urgent need for national leadership to ensure Jewish Canadians feel safe in their synagogues, schools and communities, and on March 6, 2025, hosted the National Forum on Combatting Antisemitism. Co-chaired by the Associate Minister and Minister of Public Safety and the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, the Forum brought together federal, provincial and municipal leadership, along with law enforcement and prosecutors, to discuss the growing public safety threat of antisemitism.
Representatives of federal, provincial, territorial and municipal governments, as well as law enforcement agencies across Canada, endorsed the Statement of Intent on Combatting Antisemitism.
At the Forum, the Government of Canada committed to working collaboratively with key partners to develop National Commitments to Combat Antisemitism. The Commitments highlight actions undertaken by stakeholders across the country to address the public safety threat of antisemitism, taking into account comments from Forum participants, invitees, and their representatives.
